Black Car Service

A professional chauffeur, a clean executive vehicle, and a driver who knows the route — for the meetings and arrivals where showing up matters.

Chauffeured, not dispatched

Rideshare is fine for a trip across town. It is a poor fit for a client arriving from out of state, a board member with a two-hour window, or an executive who needs to take a call in the back seat without a stranger's playlist on.

Black car service is different in the ways that matter under pressure. Your vehicle is reserved in advance and confirmed. Your chauffeur is a trained professional employee, not a gig driver — background checked, licensed, and briefed on your itinerary before pickup. The car is clean, quiet, and appropriate for who is sitting in it.

Who Uses It

Our black car clients across Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, and Cedar Rapids are largely corporate and institutional — companies moving visiting executives, firms hosting clients, hospitals and universities receiving speakers and recruits, and individuals who simply prefer a reserved car.

We also handle assignments requiring genuine discretion: dignitaries, heads of state, entertainers, and high-profile passengers whose travel is not something to discuss. Our chauffeurs understand that the trip is confidential.

Private Aviation and FBO Pickups

We meet private and charter aircraft at fixed-base operators, including at Iowa City Municipal and The Eastern Iowa Airport, and offer airside pickups where the operator permits ramp access — your vehicle meets the aircraft at the wing rather than at the FBO door. Coordinating a curbside pickup at an FBO is a different exercise from a commercial terminal — different access, different timing, different expectations — and our dispatchers handle it routinely.

The Vehicles

Our executive sedan is a BMW X7 or equivalent, seating up to three passengers in comfort with luggage. For larger parties or heavier bags, the Chevrolet Suburban or comparable full-size SUV seats up to six. Both are maintained to a standard you would expect for the passenger, not for the mile count.

Hourly, Point-to-Point, and Corporate Accounts

Book a single transfer, reserve a car by the hour for a day of meetings, or set up a corporate account with consolidated invoicing if your organization books regularly. For multi-day visits and recurring executive travel, having one account and one point of contact removes a real amount of administrative friction.

Common Questions

What is the difference between black car service and a rideshare?

A black car is reserved in advance with a specific vehicle and a specific professional chauffeur assigned to you. The driver is a trained, background-checked employee rather than an independent gig driver, the vehicle is a maintained executive sedan or SUV, and the reservation is guaranteed rather than matched at the moment you request it.

Can you pick up at a private terminal or FBO?

Yes. We regularly meet private and charter aircraft at fixed-base operators, including at Iowa City Municipal Airport and The Eastern Iowa Airport. We also offer airside pickups — meeting the aircraft planeside on the ramp — where the FBO or operator permits it. FBO access and timing differ from commercial terminals, and our dispatch team coordinates both as a matter of routine.

Do you offer hourly service?

Yes. You can reserve a chauffeur and vehicle by the hour for a day of meetings, site visits, or client hosting. Hourly service is billed in one-hour increments.

Can our company set up an account?

Yes. Organizations that book regularly can establish a corporate account with consolidated invoicing and a consistent point of contact. Contact dispatch at dispatch@express-limos.com to set one up.

How many passengers can a black car carry?

Our executive sedan seats up to three passengers with luggage. A full-size SUV such as the Chevrolet Suburban seats up to six. For larger groups, a Sprinter van or minibus is the better fit.

Do you provide service for high-profile or security-sensitive travel?

Yes. We handle transportation for dignitaries, heads of state, entertainers, and other passengers whose travel requires discretion. Chauffeurs assigned to these details understand confidentiality is part of the assignment.
