Charter Bus

Full-size motorcoaches for large group movements — conferences, sporting events, corporate retreats, and long-distance travel where everyone needs to arrive together.

Full-size motorcoach used for Express Midwest charter bus service in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids

When the group is too big for anything else

Past about thirty people, the logistics change. Caravanning stops being practical, coordination overhead grows faster than the group does, and the cost of everyone driving separately — in mileage, parking, and lost time — exceeds the cost of chartering.

A motorcoach moves up to 56 passengers as one unit. One departure time, one arrival, one point of contact.

What We Charter For

Departing from Eastern Iowa

We charter from Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Cedar Rapids and surrounding Johnson and Linn County communities. Pickup can be a single location or several stops along a route — useful when a group is coming from multiple towns.

Comfort on Longer Runs

A motorcoach is built for distance in a way a school bus is not: reclining seats, climate control, overhead storage, and underfloor luggage bays sized for a full group's bags and equipment. On multi-hour trips, that difference is what determines whether your group arrives ready to work or ready to sit down.

Booking a Charter

Charter availability is finite, particularly on weekends during graduation season, home football weekends, and conference season. If your dates are set, book early. If they are not, tell us the window and we will flag what is realistic.

Common Questions

How many passengers does a charter bus hold?

Our full-size motorcoach seats up to 56 passengers with underfloor luggage capacity. For groups under 30, an executive minibus is usually the better fit, and for under 14 a Sprinter van.

How far in advance should we book a charter bus?

As early as your dates are firm. Motorcoach availability is limited, and weekends during graduation season, home football weekends, and conference season book out well in advance.

Can the bus pick up from more than one location?

Yes. Multi-stop pickups along a route are common when a group is coming from several towns. Provide the stops and approximate headcount at each when you book.

Are there limits on how far or how long you can drive?

Charter drivers operate under federal hours-of-service rules that limit driving and on-duty time. For long-distance or multi-day trips these rules affect scheduling, and we will tell you upfront if your itinerary requires a second driver or an overnight stay.

Is there luggage space for equipment?

Yes. Motorcoaches have underfloor luggage bays sized for a full group, including sports equipment, instruments, and trade show materials. Let us know about oversized items when you book.

Can we eat or drink on the bus?

Light food and non-alcoholic beverages are generally fine. Alcohol consumption is subject to applicable law and advance approval, and excessive cleanup beyond standard post-service cleaning is billed to the customer.
